Delhi University's academic council on Saturday cleared crucial proposals like a meta university project, and a B Tech in humanities.

The Leftist teachers' organisations opposed the proposals, saying serious "academic compromises" were being made in pushing through some courses.

The Academic Council met in an "emergent" meeting to examine the proposals for the meta university, to introduce two new courses — Master of Mathematical Education and B Tech in Humanities — as models for meta-university and meta-college courses, and amendments to the ordinances for Credit Transfer between DU and other institutions.
