"Teachers will teach the science courses, for which the semester system was passed this year, according the annual calendar and annual syllabi," said Aditya Narayan Misra, president, DUTA.

Refusing to recognise the semester system, Misra alleged Vice Chancellor Deepak Pental passed the semester system in an illegal manner. "Any academic change has to be first passed by the academic council and the executive council. Since he did not follow these rules he violated the ordinance passed by Parliament. Therefore the semester system was never passes according to us," said Jafri S Abbas, joint secretary, DUTA.
