A division bench of chief justice Dipak Misra and justice Sanjiv Khanna asked the MAMC authorities to place before it the college attendance register and asked them to file an affidavit explaining how the college calculated the percentage of attendance in the college.

The college was also told to clarify in the affidavit as to how it has calculated the attendance of the students when they are also obliged to attend seminars, demonstrations, lectures, group discussions and practical classes. The court order came after the counsel for MAMC denied the allegation and claimed that the students having 75% attendance were allowed to sit for the final examination.

While seeking an affidavit from Delhi University as well, on its role over the issue of alleged permission for students to sit for the examination despite the lack of requisite attendance percentage, the bench also directed Medical Council of India to frame guidelines for the students of different medical colleges.
