According to the police, they received a call from Chawla on Monday morning, saying that R8.5 lakh had gone missing from his Maruti van.

However, “Both the driver and the caller started giving contradictory statements, after which Chawla withdrew his complaint,” said Romesh Kumar, SHO, Kotwali.
