Fake drugs in MCD hospitals

The deliberative wing of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Friday alleged that the civic body was distributing spurious medicine in its hospitals and dispensaries.

The deliberative wing of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Friday alleged that the civic body was distributing spurious medicine in its hospitals and dispensaries. Vijay Pandit, a councillor from Palam ward said that the distribution is happening in connivance with pharmaceutical companies.

“Samples of some medicines have failed the test and yet, those drugs have been bought by the Health Department of the civic agency,” he said.

Following the allegations, Municipal Commissioner KS Mehra has ordered a probe in the matter.

“Without enquiry or adequate information, it will be difficult for me to comment. A proper enquiry will be made and as the report comes, appropriate action will be taken against guilty,” said Mehra
