It is still not clear why they tried to end their lives.

This is the third such incident of a combined suicide bid in the last one month.

According to police, Dharmender Singh (32), his wife Mukesh (27), their son Aman (6) and daughters Bhavna (4) and Mansi (2) are reportedly critical and are admitted at Maharishi Valmiki Hospital.

What happened?

According to police, Singh took money from his father Karan Singh, a head constable in Delhi Police, to take his wife to a doctor in Mundka around half past eight in the morning. He took his two daughters and wife on a motorcycle and first went to his son’s school in the same area. After fetching son Aman from school, they all drove to a road from Nangloi to Narela instead of Mundka.

“Near Ghogha Mor, he mixed sulphas — a pesticide — in a bottle of a cold drink and drank it with his family,” said a senior police officer.

Singh’s family claimed a passerby called the police. The police have not been able to take their statements.
