Addressing a function to mark the Earth Day, Dikshit also asked the people to follow the 'mantra' of reduce, recycle and reuse to minimise pressure on scarce natural resources.

"We should plant more trees and we must follow good habits of limiting our consumption," she said. Also, to mark the Earth Day, a programme was organised in the city’s commercial hub Nehru Place to clean the green cover there.

Around 100 employees of Paharpur Business Centre, Nehru Place, and staff of The Climate Project India in partnership with Delhi Development Authority carried out the drive.
