Former CVC chief to be part of new vigilance committee

When P Shankar, retired as former Chief Vigilance Commissioner in 2006, he might have thought that his last innings with the government was over as the CVC Act prohibits re-employment of a vigilance commissioner.

When P Shankar, retired as former Chief Vigilance Commissioner in 2006, he might have thought that his last innings with the government was over as the CVC Act prohibits re-employment of a vigilance commissioner. But, the government still wants him, one last time. Shankar has been appointed as a member of a committee (which is not reemployment) constituted to fasten the process of vigilance inquiries and make it more stringent.
