“The incident was reported from New Friends Colony and the constables have been identified as Ravinder, Rajbir, Pervez Anand and Bir Singh,” said a senior police officer.

On April 20, the constables told the businessman, involved in travel operations, they were probing a complaint of human trafficking against him.

They allegedly told the trader they could get him off the hook for a bribe of Rs. five lakh. Police said a deal was struck for Rs 1.5 lakh and the money changed hands.

When the businessman came to know there was no case against him at the New Friends Colony police station, he approached the police.
