Police said the incident happened when the woman, along with her three children, jumped before a speeding Mangla Express train coming from Erunakalum to Hazrat Nizamuddin.

“The family was crushed to death,” police said, adding, “It seems that the family willingly jumped to their death.”

“The women, her two daughters (four and two-year-old) and one-year-old son were crushed under the train at 1505/1416 kilometer number near New Town Railway station in Faridabad around 12.45 pm,” said Mohammad Yamin, assistant sub-inspector GRP, Faridabad. He said the victims had yet to be identified.

“The bodies of the victims, who seemed to be from a middle class family, have been kept in the mortuary of BK Hospital, Faridabad,” he added.
