A new state was announced and how did people on Twitter react? They cracked jokes, had fun and welcomed Telangana.

The essential issue that revolved around was how will the state's cusines be treated. Ramesh Srivats (@rameshsrivats) tweeted, "Hyderabad and all is okay. But Telangana and Andhra need to focus on what is important, and quickly resolve who gets Gongura Chutney."

Abhi (@item_boyy) tweeted, "stop dis telangana biryani andhra biryani doubts.. hyderabad biryani.. coz name of the city remains same" and "Waiting for "authentic Telangana cuisine" restaurants to open."

While Sidin, on a more serious note questioned the necessity divinding the state in two. "Why share Hyderabad? Take the opportunity to build a nice, new city no? India could use a few good ones..." he tweeted.

Suman09 (@suman_rd) tweeted, "People can have multiple identities at the same time. I can be Telanganite, Telugu, Indian and human. These are not mutually exclusive ffs"

Even Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, was not left out. @shahjameelmerch tweeted, "Is it just a coincidence that #LungiDance and #Telangana have both released on same day?". Lungi dance, a song from the actor's upcoming movie Chennai Express, was released on Tuesday.
