The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) probing into the case stumbled about this while scrutinising Gautam's details and would now extend their probe to this category as well.

The details of the “successful allottees” recovered from the possession of M.L. Gautam revealed he used the name and information of a war widow based in Sultanpuri of northwest Delhi.

“We have sought the details of the application form and PAN card of the war widow. It has been known Gautam used the details and information of war widows as well to corner flats,” said a police officer. Police said they have contacted the woman and were trying to record her statement.

“We have asked the DDA to furnish her details and application number,” said the officer. Police said they were contacting all the successful allottees and are recording their statements. According to DDA, they had received 165 applications from war widows and flats were allotted to 52 of them.
