Govt intensifies anti-dengue drive
In view of increasing cases of dengue being reported from South-East Delhi's Jamia Nagar, the state government has intensified its drive against the water-borne disease in the area.

"We have stationed eight mobile vans at Abul Fazal Enclave, Ramzani Masjid, Okhla Vihar, Johari Farm, Shaheen Bagh, Batla House Chowk and other areas for to ferry dengue patients to nearby hospitals," Health Minister Kiran Walia said.
Jamia Nagar, which is home to around five lakh people, is the worst hit locality with more than 40 cases of dengue being reported every day.
Walia took a round of the city including Okhla and said the government has sensitised all the hospitals to be ready for meeting any eventuality and for treating dengue patients.
Talking to the residents at Okhla and Jamia Nagar, she said that there was no need to panic and there is adequate blood storage in the government hospitals.
"In addition to this, platelets separator facilities are also available in AIIMS, RML Hospital, Safdarjung Hospital and Suchita Kirpalni Hospital.
"There is no scarcity in platelets either in Delhi Government's hospital or any private hospitals which are in Delhi," she added.
