High Court gets new CJ

The Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Deepak Misra (57), was on Friday appointed as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. Justice Misra has been asked to take over the new post on or before May 28.

The Chief Justice of Patna High Court, Deepak Misra (57), was on Friday appointed as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court. Justice Misra has been asked to take over the new post on or before May 28. Justice Madan B. Lokur had been officiating as the acting chief of Delhi HC ever since Justice Ajit Prakash Shah retired as the Chief Justice on February 12, 2010.

Born on October 3, 1953, Justice Misra enrolled as an advocate in February 1977. He became a permanent judge on December 19, 1997.
