High fees mean less kharcha
It’s not just the cut-offs that are making DU aspirants worry; a higher fee is also a problem. Here’s how students are fighting the ‘high’ tide.
As if the high cut-offs were not enough, it’s also the fee hike in Delhi University this time around that’s making students bite their nails. With the commencement of the four year programme comes an annual fee hike of 7-10% for all courses, and those that hope to secure a seat against all odds (read cut-offs) are faced with the task of strapping up, saving more and cutting down on living costs to tackle the fee hike. Parents are contemplating giving out less pocket money, and students are strategising how to deal with it. Here’s how.

Being in a reputed university like DU makes a lot of difference, and a little bit of a hike in the fee will not Affect me. in private colleges., the fee is in lakhs.

the fee in DU is still lesser than that in other universities. It does mean less extraneous kharcha and cutting down on eating out, but that’s okay for education!

They charge higher fees in the name of better infrastructure, and in return, my dad will cut down on my pocket money. I’ll have
to cut down on dates with my girlfriend.

It's not a big deal to pay a little more if the university provides more facilities. Improving the condition of the classrooms and surroundings could be one such way.

The course I’m doing is one of the costliest in DU anyway. thanks to the new implementation, I’ll have to cut down on my parlour expenses.
