The resolution came after intervention by Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit.

The Union petroleum ministry on Tuesday conveyed the approval to share the increased cost of security deposit of Rs. 200 on 14.2kg LPG cylinder on an equal basis, as decided earlier for implementation of the scheme.

Now of the Rs. 1,600 security deposit, Rs. 800 would be borne by the Delhi government while the rest by the oil marketing companies from their scheme.
