House may be extended by three days

Determined to pass the lokpal bill as soon as possible, the UPA government is keeping open the option of extending the winter session beyond Christmas.

Parliament may be convened for three extra days from December 27 to December 29, if the two Houses fail to pass the bill next week. The matter was considered at a ministerial review meeting on the lokpal bill Thursday keeping in mind Anna Hazare’s threat to sit on a fast from December 27.
