Housing ministry team reviews scheme for poor

Secretary AK Mishra and additional secretary PK Mohanty along with a team of officials from the ministry reviewed the progress of the ongoing project.

The Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) of the Government of India had approved 44,600 and 18,204 houses to be constructed by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) and the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), respectively.

While the DSIIDC has constructed 13,820 flats and DUSIB 1,024 houses till date, another 18,760 and 17,180 dwelling units are under construction by the two agencies at various locations in Delhi.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit is likely to allot about 500 flats to eligible slum dwellers soon.
