IGNOU diploma can get you job at BHEL

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today said its advanced diploma in mechanical and electrical engineering has received recognition from the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), making the students eligible for employment in the state-run firm.

The diploma is offered by IGNOU's Institute of Industrial Management for Safety, Health and Environment (IIMSHE) community college in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

"The diploma awarded by IGNOU is equivalent to diploma in engineering and thus candidates with this qualification are eligible to apply for the post of supervisor trainees in BHEL," the company's executive director B. Shankar said in a communique to SA Pillai, managing director, IGNOU-IIMSHE.

According to the varsity, the IIMSHE is recognised by the government of Madhya Pradesh.

"The apex body of this institute is governed and advised by public sector and multinational companies," a varsity official said.
