The fest, which will be flagged off on October 21 at 5pm, will come to a close on Monday. “We are spending roughly R30-R35 lakh this year on the fest and are expecting large-scale participation from colleges within and outside Delhi,” said Shashi Mathur, dean of students, IIT-Delhi.
Colleges from across Delhi University and other IITs from across India are expected to participate in the event. “About 600 students from outside Delhi are expected, along with an equal number from within Delhi and NCR. There will be group dances, rock music competitions and a professional night that the students will participate in,” added Mathur.
This year, the IIT has also collaborated with several embassies for renowned musicians from the respective countries to come and participate at ‘Rendezvous.’ “There is a Swedish music band which is going to participate. There will also be several performances by French and Mexican musicians, including a classical music recital by Shubha Mudgal,” said Mathur.
