Illegal factory run by Naxalites busted in Madhya Pradesh

Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said that security agencies had unearthed an illegal factory in Bhopal.

Security agencies have busted an illegal factory used by Naxalites as a Research and Development (R&D) unit, the Lok Sabha was informed on Tuesday.

In a written reply, Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal said security agencies unearthed an illegal factory in Bhopal in January which led to the arrest of five hardcore Naxalites.

During the interrogation, CPI (Maoists) activists running the Research and Development unit in Bhopal said that the same team was earlier running a similar unit in Jabalpur between 1996-98," Jaiswal said.

The minister said the factory was used by Naxals for producing and fabricating of components for weapons used by the extremists.
