There was, however, a brief spell of peace in Lok Sabha, as Speaker Meira Kumar made an obituary reference to late Mahabir Prasad, a former union minister and Haryana Governor, who breathed his last a few days back at the age of 71.

Calm in the House, however, did not last long as Opposition member belonging to BJP, AIADMK and Shiv Sena soon stormed the well, shouting slogans in favour of JPC demand.

As the Opposition members refused to relent, the Speaker adjourned the House till noon.

In the Rajya Sabha, members from BJP and AIADMK rushed into the well as soon as the House assembled.

Members from JD-U also stood in support of the JPC demand, though did not join BJP in the well.

As the din continued with Opposition members shouting slogans "We want JPC", Chairman Hamid Ansari adjourned the House till noon.
