Four Indians were attacked in Brisbane, Australia while a couple was arrested in Sydney on Thursday for the murder of Ranjodh Singh (25), whose partially-burnt body was found in December, 2009.

“We have learnt today of fresh violence against Indians with the latest reports from Brisbane, where four Indians, including three taxi drivers, were attacked on Thursday,” Minister of State for External Affairs Preneet Kaur said.

External Affairs Minister SM Krishna will take up the matter of the fresh attacks with his Australian counterpart Stephen Smith in London, where they are attending a conference. On Wednesday too, Krishna told Smith it was hard to believe the attacks on Indians are devoid of racist motives.
