The dead body of an infant girl was found near a government hospital in Loni on Saturday morning. The police said the body was probably dumped by some residents from the nearby slum area.

"We have sent the body for post-mortem and the results are awaited," said Brijmohan Yadav, Loni station officer.

Recently, a lot of similar incidents have been reported from Ghaziabad and the neighbouring areas. On May 12, the body of a newborn girl child was recovered from a drain in Shanti Nagar area of Loni.

In Panchsheel Nagar, the police nabbed two persons on May 10 from Rampura, trying to bury a newborn girl for bringing prosperity to the family and also to have a male child. The two men were booked for attempt to murder and the child was recovered by the police.
