Jeweller robbed, killed in east Delhi

Robbers again had a free run in the city after they shot dead a jeweller and decamped with cash and jewellery on Wednesday.

The 30-year-old jeweller was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the Lal Quarter market of Krishna Nagar in
east Delhi.

The deceased died on the spot while the assailants fled with jewellery worth lakhs of rupees. After the incident, enraged shopkeepers closed the market and staged protest against the police claiming lack of proper policing.

According to the police, the deceased lived with his family in Krishna Nagar and ran a jewellery showroom in Lal Quarter market.

On Wednesday, he was sitting in his showroom along with two salesmen.
