Justice has finally prevailed: Nitin Katara
Nitin Katara, brother of Nitish Katara, said he went through a sea of emotions after the verdict on Wednesday. "Every day, the most difficult moment is to accept the fact that my bother is no longer with us. My brother was an idealist who would fight against any kind of wrongdoing. He fought for love and I feel today love has triumphed over all odds," he said.
He said he respected Bharti Yadav as a sister-in-law and thought his brother would marry to her. Instead, Nitin had to light his brother's funeral pyre.
Now, after fighting it out in courts and outside for the last six years, two months and 16 days, he says he is happy that justice has finally prevailed.
The Katara family has been through a lot in the last few years in their fight against a powerful political family. During the agonizing wait for justice, there were cases of witnesses turning hostile, of threats and acquisitions.
Nitin today is thankful to his friends, to Nitish's friends from Modern School and family members who supported them through this period.
"There are so many things I remember about my brother. When we were kids, we used to bathe together. I loved going on long drives with him and discuss anything and everything. Today, we go back as a simple and happy family. We are going to miss him a lot this evening," he said.
About Bharti Yadav, he said, "I always respected her as my bhabhi."
