‘Kidnapped’ infant’s body found, he went missing 2 years ago

The police said that the father of the boy Ram Phal who is a daily wage labour filed a case of kidnapping with police.

The father in his complaint had said that his son Shyam Kumar was lying on a blanket at the construction site he was working in Hari Nagar on October 22, said police officers.

“When Ram Pal was busy working at the site, a woman who apparently came with another child came and took the victim,” said a senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he is not authorized to speak to the media.

On Thursday the body of the victim was found in a park behind Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital.

The police said that the body was found with strangulation marks.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and murder charges have been added to the case of kidnapping.

The police are on the lookout of the woman who apparently took the victim.
