A factory worker committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree after his family members fixed his wedding without his consent, police said today.

A factory worker committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree after his family members fixed his wedding without his consent, police said on Saturday.

The body of Bunty, an Uttar Pradesh resident living in north Delhi’s Sultanpuri area, was found hanging Friday morning in a forest in north Delhi’s Bawana area.

“No suicide note was recovered from Bunty. Initial inquiry suggested that he wanted to marry off his sisters before his wedding, but his family members fixed his marriage without his consent,” said a police officer.

“Bunty’s marriage was proposed to be held in May that might have led him to take such an extreme step,” added the officer.
