Man crushed to death due to low visibility

A 28-year-old BPO employee was crushed to death in Chirag Dilli area of south Delhi on Wednesday night by a car. The victim, identified as Sujay Vats, was on his bike when he was hit by a car.

The driver of the car, Umang Aggarwal, has been arrested for causing death due to rash and negligent driving.

“Aggarwal was there at the spot and we arrested him. He said that due to fog, he couldn’t see the bike and hit him,” a police officer said. The incident took place at 1 am when Vats was going to his Ghaziabad house from his office at Sainik Farm while Aggarwal was going to his Greater Kailash house.

“After being hit, Vats came under the wheel of the car and got crushed. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. His family members have been informed about the incident,” the officer added.

In another accident due to fog, a car rammed into the wall of Safdarjung Tomb on Wednesday late night. Though no one was injured in the incident, the car got badly damaged.
