The victim, Hemant Gupta (32), was a direct sales agent with HDFC bank and was on his way to office when he was assaulted at 11:30 am.

“When he reached near the Keshavpur bus depot, a Santro car hit Gupta’s car from behind. When he came out, one of the four men in the car stabbed him thrice (including) once on his chest and fled,” said V Renganathan, deputy commissioner of police (west).

“Locals said that the PCR van did not stop. We are checking the PCR vans on duty in the area and trying to find out how this shirking of responsibility took place,” Renganathan said. Gupta had to be taken to hospital on the scooter of one of the locals.
