A 24-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his flat mate for making advances towards his wife.

After the murder in Tilak Nagar in West Delhi, Manoj Kumar, his wife Rani Devi and family member Saroj Kumar reportedly stuffed the body in gunny bags and locked the flat before fleeing the city. The police arrested the trio from a village in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, three days after the incident.
The arrests followed the investigations into the murder of Raju, said V Renganathan, additional CP (west).
The police were alerted to the incident by a phone call from an area resident complaining of a foul smell that seemed to be emanating from the flat.
“The main door of the flat was broken open and a highly decomposed body was found stuffed in gunny bags in one of the rooms. During investigations, we learnt that the house belongs to Prabhjeet Singh, a resident of East Punjabi Bagh, who also ran a confectionery store in Moti Nagar. Manoj and Raju worked with him at his shop,” said Renganathan, adding that Singh had given the flat to Manoj and Raju, who were living with their relatives.
During interrogation, Manoj told the police that Raju had been making advances towards his wife Rani that led to frequent quarrels between them. Manoj planned to murder Raju and on February 27, he hit Raju on his head with a stone while the latter was sleeping.
