Man's hand broken by IGIA conveyor belt

A maintenance staffer working with a baggage-handling firm was injured at the newly opened T3 terminal at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday morning after his hand got stuck and fractured in the conveyor belt. HT reports.

A maintenance staffer working with a baggage-handling firm was injured at the newly opened T3 terminal at Indira Gandhi International Airport on Tuesday morning after his hand got stuck and fractured in the conveyor belt.

The victim identified as 20-year-old Veeru Singh was rushed to Medanta Medicity in Gurgaon and was given treatment.

The belt where the incident took place is meant to handle the fragile items of customs department.

Police said they have not registered any case, as there was no complaint from concerned officials. "We got to know that such incident has taken place but we have not registered any case," said a senior police officer.
