Man’s jail term set aside

A man sentenced to three months in jail for failing to supply his account books to a special auditor as per an Income Tax Department’s direction, has been spared imprisonment by a Delhi court and instead he was asked to pay a fine of R7,000. Additional sessions judge (ASJ) Pawan Kumar Jain waived the jail term of 36-year-old, central Delhi resident, Sanjay Kumar Garg awarded to him by a trial court. But the Delhi court had hiked the fine from Rs 200 to Rs 7,000.
