The victim, Sanjay, works at a mobile charger manufacturing unit in Sarai Rohilla, and was en route his workplace after collecting a payment around 2 pm when the incident occurred.
“He had been asked by his employer to collect a payment, of R10,000 from one of his clients on Idgah road and was on his way back when four men surrounded him,” said a senior police officer.
According to the police, as soon as Sanjay reached the Kishanganj road, the four men obstructed his way and started assaulting him. They then snatched the money that he had just collected.
Moments later, when the men attempted to snatch Sanjay’s mobile phone and wallet, he resisted and was stabbed in retaliation, police said. He is at Bara Hindu Rao hospital and a case has been registered.
