Man threatens to blow up policeman, spends a night in jail

Drunken men, disgruntled ex-wives and miscreants who make bombs out of brinjals — thanks to them, the Delhi Police have their hands full.
Not only they have to look for the people responsible for Saturday’s blasts, police have to constantly hunt for people who make hoax calls.

On Monday night, he called up a CBI inspector and started inquiring about one Vinod and refused to listen to repeated requests that the phone did not belong to the person he was asking for.
“I will blast you with a bomb,” Pal allegedly told the inspector, which prompted him to lodge a complaint with the police.
“We got in touch with central security agencies to locate the number which was traced to Pal in Najafgarh in South West Delhi. The local police station was asked to take details about Pal. The policemen then got in touch with him asked him why he was threatening people with bomb blasts. Pal again claimed that he had already detonated five on Saturday and would do it again,” said a senior police officer.
He was immediately picked up from his house in a drunken state and kept in a police station before being shifted to R K Puram for further questioning.
Pal only realised what he landed himself in after recovering from the influence of alcohol. He pleaded for mercy but was only released after spending the whole day in detention.
In another case, a jealous ex-wife called up the police and told them that a militant was visiting her house. But when the police reached, they found that the visitor was a distant relative of husband's second wife. The police later gave the first wife a stern warning.
In Tigri area, miscreants left no stones unturned to stir trouble. A scared citizen called the PCR and told them about a polythene bag in one of the public toilets at 5.30 pm. The bag however had two brinjals with wires sticking out of it to make it look like a bomb.
