The accused, Pankaj, was apprehended in Rohini on Tuesday on a tip off.
“A.315 bore pistol along with two live rounds was recovered from him,” said Ashok Chand, deputy commissioner of police (crime). The police said he was allegedly involved in 17 cases of robbery, attempt to murder, molestation, drug peddling, possession of illegal firearms, assault and snatching.
The police said the accused is a school dropout and took to crime in 2001. He has been in and out of jail several times and came out on bail the last time in November 2010.
On February 14, he allegedly attacked on Sunny, suspecting that he was informing police about his movements in Jahangirpuri where he resides.
Sunny was injured in the incident and his car smashed. “Pankaj had been absconding since the day of the incident. He kept shifting his hideouts from one place to another to evade detection,” added Chand.
