‘Mandatory diabetes test for pregnant women’

Like the extensive awareness campaigns across the city on Polio, the Delhi government's health department plans to launch a similar programme to create awareness on diabetes among pregnant women.

Like the extensive awareness campaigns across the city on Polio, the Delhi government's health department plans to launch a similar programme to create awareness on diabetes among pregnant women.

The Delhi government will make diabetes test mandatory for all pregnant women registered with its hospitals and health centres.

"By making the test mandatory, we can educate and make them aware about the ill-effects of the disease on their health," said Kiran Walia, state health minister.
