MCD axe on 10 unauthorised properties

Further intensifying its drive against unauthorised construction, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Monday demolished/sealed 10 properties falling under its south zone.

Further intensifying its drive against unauthorised construction, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Monday demolished/sealed 10 properties falling under its south zone.

The areas which came under MCD's drive are Chhatarpur Enclave-II, Freedom Fighters Colony, Paryavaran Complex, Madangir, Chhatarpur Extension, Sai Apartment and Maidangarhi Extension.

The building department of the civic body, with the help of local police, left the unauthorised demolished portions in inhabitable condition. One property in Chhatarpur Enclave was completely demolished by cutting columns technique, the civic body said in a release.

While unauthorised portions of one or more floors of five properties were demolished on Monday, the MCD officials also sealed four properties, the release added.
