Documenting two intact illegal hotels as demolished structures in records landed three MCD engineers and two realtors in the net of CBI officials. In a charge sheet filed in a city court, CBI alleged the engineers forged the documents to protect the two hotels from the demolition drive.

Sayed Raisul Hassan, Shyam Mohan and Rajesh Kumar Gupta entered a criminal conspiracy during 2002-04 with Pramod Kumar Ghai, owner of Hotel Dream Inn, and Anil Kumar Vachhar, owner of Elegant International to raise unauthorised commercial constructions in a residential area.

When the demolition drive was launched, they booked the two hotels as illegal buildings in the Karol Bagh zone.
