MCD’s Veterinary Department had received complaints about stray donkeys posing danger to humans on the road, particularly patients from LNJ and GB Pant Hospitals.

It had earlier stressed upon owners to ensure that donkeys stayed at a nearby shed, which obviously did not work.

“So, in the interest of public safety, these donkeys were impounded and sent to Malviya Nagar cattle pound. The owner can get them back by paying a penalty and feeding charges and by assuring that the animals will not be allowed to stray in public places,” said MCD Director (Press and Information) Deep Mathur.
