The plan was mooted by MCD works committee chairman Jagdish Mamgain on Wednesday.
The signboard would have information the total allocated amount, details of the work recommended by the councillor, along with the amount sanctioned and spent. The name of the contractor, date of beginning and completion of work would be also displayed.
According to Mamgain, this will inform the people about the status of MCD works.
"In the last four years of BJP rule, MCD has done a lot of developmental works in various areas. Newly constructed community halls, hospitals, schools, new roads, drains and beautiful green parks are the part of the developmental chain.
Along with these, over Rs 1,000 crore were spent by the councillors under the discretionary funds in their wards but ... sometimes the achievement of MCD do not receive appreciation," he said.
