One can spot men in the special coach almost everyday. Moreover, many occupy the seats reserved for women.

"Men are found travelling in the ladies' compartment almost everyday. Some who claim to be accompanied by a female family member continue to sit in the coach, despite requests to vacate from fellow women commuters. Young boys refuse to leave the coach if the general one is full," said Rita Choudhary, a daily commuter.

However, the CISF, which is responsible for managing the Metro security, has been carrying out regular checks to ensure that the violators are taken to task. "We conduct surprise checks and fine men found travelling in women's coach. On Thursday, we penalised 130 men on Tis Hazari line," said Udayan Banerjee, DIG, CISF, who looks after Delhi Metro security.
