However, with a partly cloudy sky, the Met department has forecast rain and thundershowers in some places during the day.

"The minimum temperature this morning was recorded at 18.1 degrees Celsius, which is five degrees above average. The rise in temperature is mainly because of partly cloudy skies," an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

"There may be rain and thundershowers in some parts of the capital during the course of the day," the official added.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 32 degrees Celsius.
