“A 37-year-old man allegedly tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of the Metro which was approaching the platform at Ram Krishna Ashram Marg station. The man had a narrow brush with death as the driver applied emergency brakes and the alert staff took him out from underneath the frame,” said police.

The victim, identified as Asif, was rushed to the nearby hospital where he is getting treatment. The cops said the man had head injuries but is out of danger.

“The incident was reported around 6.09pm after which there was some delay on the Noida-Dwarka corridor,” said a DMRC spokesperson.

The cops are studying the CCTV footage from the platform to ascertain the exact sequence of events.

Witnesses, however, told the cops that they saw the man standing quiet in a corner close to the edge of the platform.
