There was just a slight delay of Metro services on Line 2 (Gurgaon-Jahangirpuri corridor) during morning peak hours. Five to six BJP workers led by local BJP leader Ajay Bharadwaj entered Chandni Chowk Metro station by using tokens around 9.40am and tried to disrupt Metro services by jumping on the tracks and raising slogans.

"This resulted in delay of a few minutes. Their attempts to disrupt Metro services remained futile as our quick reaction team immediately reached the spot and removed the protesters from the track," said a CISF spokesperson.

The protesters also closed two entry/exit gates of the station, leading to bunching of commuters outside the stations. However, police intervened and opened the gates within a few minutes, said sources.

"We have handed over the protesters to the police," a Delhi Metro official said.

Protesters also tried to disrupt Metro services at Shastri Park and Karol Bagh stations. However, police personnel stationed at the station gates did not allow them to enter.

"I had to wait outside the Metro station for about 10 minutes. By the time the gates were opened, there was already a long queue of commuters outside the station. Thankfully, the police intervened to open the gates," said Navneet Raj, who was on his way to Central Secretariat.

"Around 11.10am, a group of protesters attempted to enter Karol Bagh Metro station. But after being resisted by police, they merely raised some slogans outside the station and left after a few minutes," an official said.
