Milk prices in Delhi rise by up to 27 % in last two yrs

Milk prices have been increased four times from March 2009 to February 2011, by Delhi Milk Scheme and Mother Dairy in Delhi, Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar said in Rajya Sabha.

Price of full cream milk has increased to Rs 33 per litre from Rs 26 per litre, while that of toned milk from Rs 21 to Rs 25 per litre and double-toned milk from Rs 18 to Rs 22 per litre.

India is the largest milk producer in the world with an estimated production of 116 million tonnes.
