Missing youth found dead hours after disappearance

A 23-year-old youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances near a petrol pump in west Delhi on Saturday, hours after he went missing from his home in Tilak Nagar area, police said.

A 23-year-old youth was found dead under mysterious circumstances near a petrol pump in west Delhi on Saturday, hours after he went missing from his home in Tilak Nagar area, police said.

The body of Raunak Singh, a resident of DDA Janta Flats in Tilak Nagar, was found in Vikaspuri this morning.

Singh had gone missing from his home on Friday evening. Police said they had registered a case in the regard last night and had received a call this morning about a body lying near the petrol pump.

The deceased, a cab driver earlier, had been unemployed in the last few weeks.

Driver shot at for refusing lift

A driver was shot at by two unidentified men in an east Delhi locality when he refused to give a lift to the duo in his employer's car, the police said.

Deepak Singh, 30, was waiting for his employer outside an apartment in Mandawali area around 9pm on Friday when the men asked for a lift in the car.

When Singh refused, he was shot at by the duo, the police said. Police reached the spot after receiving a call from one of the locals and took Singh to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.

Police said Singh's condition is stable, adding that a case of attempt to murder has been registered.
