MLAs to take home Rs 84,000; state ministers Rs 92,000
The Delhi Assembly on Monday passed the Delhi (Salaries and Allowances) Amendment Bill, paving way for 200% hike in salaries of legislators in the Capital.
The 70 MLAs of Delhi will now get Rs 84,000, apart from an increased pension and medical reimbursement, while the seven ministers will take home around Rs 92,000 every month.
The Congress MLAs unanimously approved the amendment bill — presented by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit — on the last day of the monsoon session. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs were not present in the House due to their three-day expulsion following disruption in the House.
