More permits for new autos

The transport department has decided to give more permits for new autorickshaws in the Capital. While the Supreme Court had asked Delhi government to give 45,000 new permits, the government initially invited applications only for 10,000 autos.

“We have already given 5,400 permits and all general category permits (5,050) have already been distributed. Since there is a great demand from general category candidates we have decided to issue the remaining 35,000 permits too,” said a transport department official.
