Party’s chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad wondered whether Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s concern for youth aspirations at the party’s Chintan Shivir at Jaipur was about the youth or about the elevation of Rahul Gandhi. “Is this concern for the youth a concern for the young Gandhi and his interests?” Prasad asked.

Meanwhile, on Rahul Gandhi becoming Congress’ VP, Shahnawaz Hussain said: “This announcement has not come as a surprise. He was already number two after Sonia Gandhi. Only a member of Nehru-Gandhi family can be number two”.
